Player Profiles

Bryne OrmeBryn Orme –  Captain – Left Hand Batsman
Pacey, attacking left handed batsman.  Is often subjected to dubious umpiring decisions, by his own admission. He is always supportive of our lesser talented players, ‘Wozza’!!

Hugo OrmeHugo Orme – Right Hand Leg Spin
The product of the ‘Bryn academy for talented wrist tweekers’, Hugo is a very talented young cricket, and continues to progress year on year.

Nick MayfieldNick Mayfield – Wicket-Keeper
Nick “half-it” Mayfield is the ever present within the Rockley side, adopting his unique…but effect wicket-keeping style. As tour co-ordinator he has successfully organised several drunken weekends away to Salcombe, and Salcombe (stick to what you know!!). Nick is also the current co-holder of the R.G.C.C.’s duck prize.

Richard MayfieldRichard Mayfield – Left Hand Opening Bat
Computer wiz-kid, and DIY guru Richard has been a corner stone in the Rockley Gent’s success.  A constant contender for the highest accolade within R.G.C.C., the duck award.

Tom MayfieldTom Mayfield – Right Hand Opening Chucker
Tom leads a hectic life style fulfilling his many hair product sponsorship deals and RAR commitments, yet still finds time to appear for the R.G.C.C. on a Sunday.  Despite Tom’s many lucrative sponsorship deals, he is still often found with his hand firmly in Daddy’s wallet.

Peter RossingtonPeter Rossington – President, Grounds man, Founder, Club Representative, Match Winner
Club Founder, Peter’s level of commitment to the club invaluable.  Despite his desire to enhance his already ‘favourable’ umpiring, he is often called upon to bring the game to a close with his blade of fury, specialising in holding his own end up.

Dave StoneDave Stone – Right Arm Fast
Laxton Dave, the newest recruit to the Gentlemen, certainly knows how to build an innings.  The experience he brings to the club is priceless.  His economical bowling action is an inspiration to us all.

Russ TurnerRussell Turner – Right Hand All rounder
Opens the innings with Medium Pace swing, and really lights up pitch with his fine displays of fielding.  Mr. Turner has the ability to swing an orange on his day, and often strikes fear into the eyes of the opposition opening batsmen.

Keith HuddlestoneKeith Huddlestone – Specialist Fielder
Is not shy of bearing a cheek or two on the field.  Keith’s knowledge of the finer things in life, such as beer and wine has set him up as an excellent addition to the gentlemen.

Geof WilliamsGeoff Williams – Right Hand Opening Bat, Co-founder
The run machine Williams has no fear of the pace bowling, and has been known to dispatch the opposition to all parts of the ground at will, however is generally found taking a much more cautious approach to his innings.  His bowling appears to have been fashioned on a World War I grenade launcher, and often uses the sun to his advantage, blinding the opposition.

Stew ParkinStew Parkin – Resident Alcoholic
Stew enjoyed his maiden century with the club in 2007, however still hasn’t played a match sober during his 3 year stint with the gentlemen.  The club's resident chav, is often found taking brief breaks from the field of play to feed his nicotine addiction.

Oli RossingtonOliver Rossington – Golden Balls
Often found playing under the influence of the night before, Oliver doesn’t usually pay attention to the subtle variations used by the opposition bowling, swinging hard and fast… every ball.

Criag HughesCraig Hughes – 2nd XI Captain
On Craig’s occasional call ups to the 1st XI, he has opened up the batting with great caution.  However this has not been without reward, as Craig often formed the foundation of the teams innings.

James Warwick-AdkinsJames Warwick-Adkins – Play maker, Heart Breaker.
There are rumours, of James' retirement from the game of cricket, due to his recent 6 nations selection.  However he is to keen defend his duck prize which he is the current co-holder.  With his single figure average reading more like a golf handicap, the self-proclaimed bad boy of East Markham can only improve.

Graham Warwick-AdkinsGraham Warwick-Adkins – Right Hand Batsman
Adkins struggled through the season with countless injuries but has remained ever present during team building exercises around the ‘chiller’.

Bill BroughtonBill Broughton – Right Hand Bowler
Bill’s legal expertise has often allowed Rockley to play with 11 men.  Looking after the future of the Rockley Gentlemen, producing and nurturing a young all rounder.

Mark HowardCaptain Mark Howard – Expert BBQ chef
Mark's army experiences came in great need during the Rockley BBQ.  Yet to make his Rockley debut, this coming season could see the unearthing of a hidden talent.

Dan Evans

Dan Evans?

Marc FulcherMarc Fulcher – Big Hitter
The phrase “all or nothing” really rings true with Marc, this boy will never die wondering, and when he hits a ball, it stays hit until something or someone gets in the way.

Aaron BirdAaron Bird – Agricultural Batsman
A Harmison look a-like, with similar directional control.  Sadly lacking in pace, bounce and ability Aaron always gives it his all and is not shy on remarking about current affairs.
